Senior Service Advisor

Colton Motors, established in 1982, family run business which operates two dealerships covering Offaly and Westmeath and holding franchises for - Ford, Mazda and SEAT. 

Colton Motors now wishes to recruit a Senior Service Advisor located in Mullingar. 

Job Purpose: 

To be the focal point of contact for our dealership customers, requiring servicing or repair to their vehicles. 

Managing the flow of information between the workshop, the rest of the Dealership and the customer, delivering excellent customer service at all times. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To manage all service telephone and walk-in enquiries on behalf of the Dealership. 
  • Establish understanding and an agreement with the customer of the work to be carried out. 
  • Reviews vehicle and customer history to identify potential additional work requirements (such as recalls, or items noted at last service) 
  • Manage the handover and administration of Customer Service Vehicles. Explain the work carried out on the vehicle ensuring customer’s full understanding and authorization. 
  • Creates the invoice for work completed. 
  • Ensure Vehicle Health Checks are carried out on each vehicle. 
  • Manage any necessary liaison with department manager regarding customer dissatisfaction. Follow up in line with Dealership procedures. 
  • Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards of the Dealership. 
  • Maintain relevant systems ensuring accuracy at all times. 
  • Completes any other appropriate activities as specifies by the Service Manager. 

The successful candidate will have; 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ service advisor experience. 
  • Be highly motivated and able to work on their own initiative. 
  • Previous experience in the motor industry is essential. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Time management skills 
  • Strong Computer Skills including MS Office, CDK/Kerridge and Auto VHC. 
  • Demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge of the motor industry. 
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Commercial Vehicle Sales Specialist

Colton Motors Tullamore are looking to recruit a Commercial Vehicle Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced and creative work environment.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced retail sales executive or business development manager with a proven track record in sales. Experience working as a sales executive in the motor Industry within a franchised brand would be an advantage.

The key responsibilities for the role will include:

· To sell new or used commercial and passenger vehicles via the use of an effective sales process, whilst at the same time achieving the best profit for the business.

· Deliver a first-class service & customer experience

· Carry out accurate appraisals of all vehicles offered for part exchange.

· Using various sources, prospect for new and used vehicle customers on a regular basis to create additional sales opportunities.

· Comply with the Colton Motors sales process

· Manage the preparation and handover of sold vehicles to customers ensuring that the customer is given a full briefing on the operation of the vehicle and its controls. Introduce customers to Aftersales staff in order that they are aware of the facilities and procedures.

· Through the effective use of a follow up process, maintain regular contact with all new and existing customers to ensure that relationships are maintained for potential repeat business.

· Develop and maintain full product knowledge of all products, accessories, prices, and key features of major competitors.

· Ensure all customer information, sales activities, vehicle documentation and other relevant information is kept and maintained accurately and comprehensively.

· To participate in planning sales campaigns and promotions to maximise sales.

· Demonstrating strong communication skills and immaculate presentation.

Job Purpose

To diagnose, repair and service the range of Ford and Mazda products in accordance with Ford and Mazda’s work specifications, ensuring each customer receives excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified. Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.

• Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.

• Carry out diagnosis, repairs, and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.

• Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.

• Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.

• Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Service Advisor.

• Complete relevant service documentation (Job sheets, PDI’s, service reports) in line with HSO, warranty and Ford and Mazda Dealer requirements.

• Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained including the use of special and personal tools.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Be qualified, holding relevant certification.
  • Be familiar with Ford & Mazda brands.
  • Be competent in the use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Can complete work in a timely manner with strong attention to detail.
  • Can work as part of a team.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Are computer literate, familiarity with Keyloop is preferential.
  • Have a full driving licence with zero penalty points.

Key duties & Responsibilities.

  • Wash and valet cars to the highest industry standards.
  • Be responsible for the condition and presentation of all units.
  • Inspecting cars prior to hand-over and liaising with sales.
  • Be responsible for keeping our sales pitch/yard/displays up to standard.
  • Ensure all damages are reported to management to carry out repairs.
  • Liaise with sales to plan and prioritize jobs.
  • Carry out valeting/interior detailing; shampooing seats/carpets/mats/roof-liners/etc, cleaning and detailing vents/glass/plastics/etc.
  • Carry out paint correction/machine polishing to remove imperfections/scratches/etc.

  • Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised, and safe from hazards in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Successful candidate will also be expected to carry out a general operative role when needed (attending NCT's/VRT's/driving cars to and from suppliers/deliveries/etc.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years previous valeting/detailing experience.
  • Hold a full, clean, and current driving licence.
  • Take 100% pride in their work and have a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be honest, trustworthy, reliable, and conscientious.
  • Have the ability to work under time pressure and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Exhibit good communication skills.
  • Be flexible in their approach to work.
